Academics have been thinking about the ethical impact of social networking sites, such as Twitter, and the vast amounts of private information available on the internet.
In a team at De Montford University Leicester, they are working to predict the upcoming communications technologies of the next 10-15 years.
In an article on Telecoms.com, it is reported that the team is looking for the potential downsides of these new technologies. Whilst all these technologies have positive impacts, they have their downsides. The team plans to generate a list of possible developments, and their associated ethical issues. From that, they will design a measure to rank these potential ethical risks, and deliver their report to policy makers.
